Mia and I have just experienced the opportunity of a lifetime. We travelled to Bombolulu,
a poverty stricken suburb in Mombasa, Kenya with Empowering Kids in Kenya. a UK
based charity that my school supports through sponsoring a child to provide free
secondary education, which is not available in Kenya. We had the opportunity to teach
in the school, be part of a whole school mangrove planting project, accompany the
children to the local conservation park, which was funded by another member of the
visiting team, celebrate the second stage opening of the school building, as well as
experience the joy and determination of every child to learn and achieve their dreams. It
has been life changing and we will do our very best to return next year. Rather than
bore anyone with the 1,000+ pictures and videos - here are some highlights! If you want
to find out more about the charity, click here https://www.empoweringkidsinkenya.org/. It
costs as little as £20 per month to provide a child with education and food.
