Year 6 - Owls

We are the Owls. We are the Year Six children of Sheerhatch Primary School and therefore the eldest. Our class teacher is Mrs Oliver.

In Owls, we work on securing the children’s knowledge to help prepare them for secondary school. Although we are working towards our SATS and striving to do our best, we also have lots of opportunities to help us grow as individuals and develop our social skills.

Over the year, we will help out at coffee mornings, help the younger children with their work and show them around the school, read out loud/speak at whole school events, lead sports clubs and groups at Sports Day.

We have some fantastic history and geography units that we learn about in year 6 including map work, British Geographical issues, North and South America, World War 1, the rise of Hitler and then World War 2. In science, we develop our electricity knowledge from year 4, and learn about the circulatory system and how evolution works. We work hard to build on all the writing, math and reading skills we developed throughout our time at Sheerhatch, all whilst still having fun and creating lasting memories.
